Designer on the Interactive Design Systems team at Marcom. Our focus is creating and maintaining a wide breadth of systematic design solutions that support Apple.com, Apple Store App, and email communications. We advocate for accessibility, localization, consistency, and a platform-first approach to design.
Balance creativity and logic to ensure a holistic approach is thoughtfully applied to an entire system of typography, iconography, color, layouts, interaction models, and interface elements.
Ensure designs are flexible, accessible, and adaptive to varying workflows, devices, viewports, technologies, locales, and users.
Anticipate the impact of design decisions well in advance of their application.
Audit current implementations of the design system and identify areas for simplification and improved consistency.
Consult with engineering to ensure designs work within given limitations, and files are prepared with all necessary information to support the design intent.
Prepare and deliver pixel-perfect component and template files for final documentation. Ensure files are simple and intuitive for teams to pick up and use in their projects.
Research, develop, and implement best practices for communicating design systems and delivering design assets to teams working across multiple platforms.
Create prototypes to convey states, transitions, and/or behaviors. Present presentations to teammates and leads and clearly articulate design rationale and any applicable limitations.
Communicate flexibilities and/or limitations to both designers, development, and external partners. Collaborate with art directors and larger project teams to explore and iterate on design options. Help them improve how their leveraging existing tools.
Assist team leads with reviewing potential design candidates’ portfolios, and participate in in-person interviews to assess overall skills and fit.
